D-Build...take a look at this
Rob Englert and Grant Meacham are in the process of developing a new method of cataloging and distributing reclaimed materials in an effort to promote the benefits of their use in new constructions and products. To do so, they are creating a website called D-Build, which will be both a blog and an online marketplace that sells material from dismantled houses and the products made from them,...

Design Complexity and Change
If anyone is heading to Massachusetts this coming weekend, there is going to be a design conference in Cambridge called Design Complexity and Change. It sounds very interesting: “With times of change, design managers need to think, work and execute beyond the normal—to drive business and industry in new directions and be better equipped as change agents. We need to help solve complex...

Nendo
“Blown Fabric” by Nendo I read Nendo’s mission statement and thought I might share it with you: “Giving people a small ” ! ” moment. There are so many small ” ! ” moments hidden in our everyday. Very Important!!!!!
Warehouse bus update! An express route is now in place and will be up and running on the 12th of October. Industrial Renovation →
Click Here: http://twistedsifter.com/2009/10/gasometers-of-vienna/ So at first glance this looks like an interesting way to reuse spaces that are no longer in use. It is nice that they did not tear these beautiful buildings down, but did they renovate them in an appropriate way?… Did someone say biodome? This raises a very serious problem. Once we are finished with buildings that were...

Twine!!! IID mentorship program coming soon!
The Industrial and Interaction Design program adequately prepares its students for the professional world by providing an array of research and hands-on design courses. Like many other programs these courses are applied in phases throughout the semesters, and it is easy for students to become lost in the “big picture.” We understand that students work around a tight schedule during...

What: Dining is an experience expressive of lifestyle, economics, ethnicity and heritage. It is imbued with meaning and ritual, as well as function. At its most basic, it nourishes the body; at its best it nourishes the spirit. But how we eat, when we eat, what we eat, even where we eat: all have changed drastically in the past 100 years. Until the mid-20th century, it occurred mostly as a...
